Turning Bowties into a Small Business

Local businesses see more and more support these days, as more people realize its benefits. One city that has seen a lot of local business popularity is Portland, Oregon. That's where Jahmal Landers and Jiah Sisco set up Bowyer and Fletcher, a boutique bowtie shop.

"The Bowyer and Fletcher business model took a bit of finessing to get just right," reads a Lincoln Now piece about the shop, "as most do. In striving to adhere strictly to their handmade ethos, in the early days Jahmal made even the fabric from scratch. When that proved unsustainable for the young company, the two men began sourcing textiles and hiring local seamstresses to assemble the ties on site."
