A Pragmatic American Luxury

I had 5 criteria to shop for our SUV, 1) 2nd row captains chair with pass thru, 2) Usable 3rd row for long drives, 3) Panoramic moon roof, 4) AWD, 5) Drive-feel like a car and not intimidating.
I have considered BMW X7, Mercedes GLS 450, Infinity QX80, Toyota Sequoia, Landcruiser, Lexus LX 570, GX460, Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe, Ford Expedition Limited and Lincoln Navigator.
I ended up buying a Lincoln Navigator Reserve, which best serves my 4 criteria. I was very close to buying the Ford Expedition Limited, but with all the options the price seemed high enough which prompted me to look into the Lincoln. I have been driving the Navigator Reserve for a month now, about 800 miles. Everyone in the family loves the car (feels like a car). It is certainly the epitome of American luxury, but in a very pragmatic sense. The car is designed as such where everything is nicely done, nothing feels an afterthought or excess. The drive is quiet, relaxing, plenty of power, easy maneuverability with short turning radius for a car of this size. The ride is comfortable, roomy and pleasant. The overall technology both mechanical and electronics feels like updated with time.…

I purchased the Premier/base edition of the Navigator two wheel drive. It comes standard many features that are optional on other large luxury utility vehicles. I didn't want the technology package or a sunroof. The standard 20 inch wheels improve the quality of the ride. It is such a quiet and smooth riding vehicle. I am impressed with the gas mileage. I am getting a constant 20-21 miles per gallon with a range of 500 miles per tank. I keep it in the conserve mode. I couldn't be happier with my Navigator. I went from a 2016 MKC and the drop in mileage has only been 2 to 3 miles per gallon.…
