When you're in Southfield, MI, and looking for a good establishment for ice cream, you're in luck. Our suburb of Detroit has just the right places that you are sure to love. Check out the following venues where you can get a cold treat.

1. Clark's

For hand-dipped delights, visit Clark's. You can choose from all sorts of sizes, depending on your appetite, such as mini, small, medium, large, extra large, and even a quart. You can also select a cup, cone, waffle cone, or sugar cone. Other options include the B.Y.O sundae, or, in other words, build-your-own sundae, and they come in either hard or soft treats. If you feel like a shake, malt, or float, you're in luck too!

You'll also find the servings to be very generous, and the prices are affordable. Clark's is located at 3312 Twelve Mile Rd., and they are open seven days a week from noon to 10 p.m.

2. Here's the Scoop

This venue specializes in quality frozen desserts using fresh ingredients. Their treats come with a long list of flavors that will be sure to please everyone in your group. We suggest cotton candy, cookies and cream, butter pecan, bubble gum, birthday cake, and very berry. If you feel adventurous, order a cone with four scoops. Just be careful not to spill!

They also have sorbets, pastries, and cupcakes, all made in-house. Or you can book their dessert truck that will visit your birthday party, family reunion, wedding shower, or other special event. Just visit their website to book their services. You'll love visiting Here's the Scoop, located at 22277 W. Mile Rd. Ste. 6.

3. Yo Mama's Frozen Treats

This truck may very well be serving your local neighborhood any day, so keep an eye out! Run by three brothers, the service provides more than three dozen pre-packaged frozen popsicle treats, including ones for your furry friend. Ask for the "Yo Pup Cup," and they'll donate 20 percent of sales to the Michigan Humane Society.

Be sure to book the truck for your next private event as well. Just visit their website. They are based at 17560 Stratford Dr., but as they are mobile, they can be found anywhere in the Southfield area.

Just Down the Road: Find the Best Pizza Near Southfield, MI

When you have a hungry family, going out for pizza is the perfect way to keep everyone happy. At Star Lincoln, we love eating Italian, so we've picked three of the best pizza restaurants near Southfield, MI for you to try. Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina Bigalora was founded by chef Luciano Del Signore, who learned his trade growing up in his Italian parent's pizza restaurant. The pizzas here are made from a unique fermented pizza dough known as biga, and we can confirm that the results are delicious. Bigalora's pizza menu is split into two - red and white pizzas, which are with or without tomato. There's an excellent selection of small plates, including wood-roasted olives and prosciutto e grana. Salad lovers are well catered for too, with tasty creations such as ancient grain salad and Italian tuna. In addition, Bigalora has a fine choice of pasta meals - the spaghetti and meatballs are perfect. You can find Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina at 29110 Franklin Rd. more Crispelli's Bakery & Pizzeria Crispelli's has a great combination of tradition and modernity. The pizzas are made at 700 degrees in their stone-fired oven, which you can watch being made in front of you by their artisan Pizzaiola pizza maker. We love watching the Pizzaiola at work, and the resulting thin-crust gourmet pizzas are well worth the visit. The restaurant has many soups and salads, including a soup and salad combo for those who wish to try both. As you would expect from a bakery, their sandwiches are made from freshly baked bread, with a side of pickle, kettle chips, salad, or french fries. We like the Italian panini, and you can also have caprese, patty melt, and grilled chicken club. The restaurant is at 931 N. Main St. Royal Oak. PizzaPapalis PizzaPapalis was started by Joe Sheena, who visited Chicago in the 1980s and tried the Chicago-style deep-dish pizza there. He liked it so much that he started PizzaPapalis. Every pizza is made from Wisconsin cheese, Italian tomatoes, and a custom flour grain from a small mill in Kansas. The deep-dish pizzas here are great, and the restaurant also has thin-crust and Detroit-style pizzas. The restaurant has some excellent sandwiches, with both classic subs and ciabatta sandwiches to tempt your tastebuds. Their wings are really good - you can get them regular or boneless, and there are several different sauces to choose from. As well as the pizzas, they also have calzones and some classic pasta dishes. PizzaPapalis is located at 23703 Greenfield. When you're taking your family for pizza, you want to have a stylish, luxurious SUV with plenty of space.
