1. All Aboard for a Day Out With Thomas

For a spring expedition that kids will always remember, head out to to 20900 Oakwood Boulevard in Dearborn to meet Thomas the Tank Engine. Starting May 6, he’ll be visiting the station for 3 weeks to share train rides and exciting activities. You’ll be able to capture plenty of moments of wide-eyed wonder as you meet Sir Topham Hat and experience live music, storytelling, magic shows, games, and arts and crafts.

The event runs for three weekends in May, from 9:30am to 5pm. Book tickets online and fill all three rows of your Lincoln Aviator with your tiniest friends and family to experience the magic.

2. Spring Climbing and Ziplining at Treerunner Adventure Park

There’s no better way to appreciate the clear spring skies than by zooming through them, so it’s the perfect time to experience the Treerunner West Bloomfield Adventure Park. Located at 6600 West Maple Road in the West Bloomfield Township, the park is now running its spring hours, from 3pm to 10pm on Fridays, and from 9am til late on the weekend. Enjoy a leafy, airy adventure with exciting treetop obstacles heart stopping ziplines.

3. Connect With the Past at the Rochester Heritage Days Festival

Experience spring times past on May 27 to 28 at this free family event at Rochester Municipal Park on Paint Creek Trail. Held from 9:30am to 5pm, it offers live music, food trucks, and arts and crafts shows, as well as live reenactors and historical displays. And you’ll be able to win prizes and admire some fantastic vehicles in the Heritage Rod and Custom Cars Festival on Saturday, and the Festival of Cars show on Sunday.

4. Enjoy a Night of Family Fun at Southfield Municipal Center 

Say goodbye to the spring and hello to the summer at the free Park It Family Fun night held right here in Southfield. This events will take place on June 28 from 6pm on the Southfield Municipal Campus front lawn. With kids activities, bounce houses, and an 8:20pm showing of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, it’s the perfect opportunity to make the most of the weather and connect with the community.
