Food you can hold in your hand is always better than any other type of food, and of all the sandwich-type food out there, the best burgers reign supreme. When only a burger and fries will do, visit one of these spots in Southfield, MI.
Savvy Sliders
You’ll find this spot at 29067 Southfield Rd, and they’re open from 11 AM until 11 PM Monday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, they stay open until midnight. On Sunday, they close at 12 PM. Service here is fast, the prices are good, and you’ll appreciate the friendly staff.
The meat here is never frozen, and while there are lots of things on the menu, we really have to recommend their sliders. Not only can you get these individually, but you can also get them in packs of up to 24. Some of our favorites include the steakhouse ribeye, which comes with provolone and sautéed mushrooms, and their original Simply Savvy. It’s hard to mess up a classic.
Bates Hamburgers
Everyone in the area knows about Bates. They’re located at 22291 Middlebelt Rd in Farmington Hills, and they’ve been around since 1959. Burgers and breakfast are their bread and butter, no pun intended. They are open from 7 AM until 10 PM every day.
The food here is simple and classic. They offer a hamburger, a cheeseburger, a chili burger, and doubles of all of these. You can also order six burgers or six cheeseburgers for carry out, and many people do. This is classic burger and fries fare, and you won’t be disappointed.
Basement Burger Bar
If you want to take your burgers up a notch, visit this place at 33316 Grand River Ave in Farmington. They’re open from 11 AM until 11 PM Monday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, they stay open until midnight. Their Sunday hours are noon to 11 PM. These are not the cheapest burgers you’re ever going to eat, but they are unique and extraordinarily delicious.
Try their Band Wagon Burger, which is a delicious burger topped with some pulled pork and barbecue, onion, rings, and a sunny side up egg. The Italian Stallion comes with marinara sauce, pepperoni, banana, peppers, and more. Best of all, you get to choose your proteins. They have a custom ground beef, bison, Wagyu, portobello, mushroom, impossible burgers, black, bean patties, falafel patties, and more.
